Pelvic floor physical therapy is a specialized form of rehabilitation that focuses on the muscles, tissues, and nerves of the pelvic floor. It can help treat issues like urinary leakage, pelvic pain, prolapse, constipation, and pregnancy or postpartum recovery.
-
If you experience urinary or bowel incontinence, hip pain, hamstring or low back pain, pelvic pain, constipation, pressure or heaviness, diastasis recti (abdominal separation), frequent UTIs, urinary urgency or frequency, frequent urination at night (nocturia), currently pregnant or postpartum, discomfort with sexual activity - pelvic floor physical therapy can help!
It is also beneficial for athletes, after surgery, and anyone looking to strengthen their core or figure out why addressing previous conditions may have been unsuccessful or had a missing piece in your treatment plan.
-
Pelvic floor physical therapy is much more than ‘just doing Kegels’ or using a biofeedback machine. An individualized assessment of the pelvic floor determines the appropriate plan for treating your symptoms.
We also look at our clients holistically -meaning a head to toe assessment to fully address the underlying cause for your symptoms and provide a long-term solution.
-
An internal assessment gives valuable information required to address your symptoms fully. That being said, every session is designed with your goals in mind - and internal treatment may only be required to assess your progress and treatment plan.
We will always openly discuss treatment plans with you, and perform internal asessements and treatment with your consent.
-
Yes! We are happy to support our pregnant clients throughout every stage of pregnancy; addressing back pain, hip pain, strengthening, mobility, birth preparation and continuing current workout and lifting routines with decreased symptoms.
-
Every person and every situation is different. After your initial evaluation we’ll create a custom plan based on your goals needs and lifestyle.
Most clients start to notice improvements within a few sessions and continue to build long-term resilience with consistent care.
